Grants

There are many sources of funding available for community groups and the private sector. If you are looking for a grant program or some tips on completing applications, explore some of the sites listed here.

Before you begin, make sure:

  • you are clear in your own mind about what type of service/program/project you want to undertake
  • you are able to manage the project you are seeking grant money for, and/or
  • you allow sufficient time to complete the required planning, research and reporting, as grants are often very competitive.

Current Grants section provides a listing of grant opportunities that are currently available and have specific closing dates.

Funding Opportunities section provides information of grant opportunities under specific headings e.g. education, community etc.

Grant Programs section provides a listing of key organisations that provide information on grants programs available through regional organisations as well as state and federal bodies.

Working with Council section provides information on the required process if your grant application involves the use of Council property or resources, requires the support of Council, if you wish to work in partnership or gain a Letter of Support from Council.

How To Get That Grant section provides basic information to help you find and write a grant. Intensive Winning Grant Workshops are held by Service at Our Community in various locations throughout the year and Our Community provides dates for their 2009 program. Philanthropy Australia also runs regular workshops for grant seekers.
